Privacy
The short version: your learning progress lives on your device, syncing it to an account is optional, we don't sell data, and recordings of your voice never leave your phone.
What we store
- Progress (completed lessons, streaks, XP, quiz scores, review state) is kept in your browser. If you sign in, a copy syncs to our server so other devices can pick it up.
- Account: signing in with Google or GitHub gives us your name, e-mail and avatar โ used only to identify your account. No password is ever stored here.
- Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card details, only your subscription status.
- Speaking practice: microphone recordings are processed on your device and are never uploaded. Speech recognition, where available, is your browser's own.
- Personalized lessons: the answers you provide (name, city, occupation) are used to generate your private lesson audio and are visible only to your account.
Ads on the free tier
The free tier is supported by ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to show ads and measure them; see Google's advertising policies for details and controls. Polyvox Fluent subscribers see no ads and no ad code is loaded for them.
What we don't do
We don't sell personal data, we don't run third-party analytics trackers, and we don't e-mail you anything you didn't ask for. Push notifications are opt-in and can be turned off any time from the home screen or your account page.
Questions or deletion
To have your synced data removed, contact support quoting the account id shown on your account page. If you never signed in, everything lives in your browser โ clear the site's data and it's gone.
